God as my Peace

In the book of Ephesians, the apostle Paul writes, “Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.” (Ephesians 4:29)

This verse is a powerful reminder of the importance of the words we speak, and how they can either build up or tear down those around us. But it also speaks to a deeper truth: that the source of our peace and comfort is found in God.

When we turn to God in times of trouble or stress, we can find a peace that truly “passes understanding.” This is not a peace that comes from external circumstances or people, but a peace that comes from deep within us, as we trust in the love and grace of God.

One way to tap into this peace is through reading and meditating on the Bible. As we read the Word of God, we can find encouragement, wisdom, and guidance for the challenges we face. And as we meditate on the promises of God, we can find the strength and hope we need to keep going, even in the midst of difficult circumstances.

Another way to tap into this peace is through prayer. When we pray, we are communicating with God, and he hears and answers us. We can pour out our hearts to him and find comfort and reassurance in his presence.

In short, Ephesians 4:29 is a reminder that the source of our peace and comfort is found in God and that through reading the Bible and praying, we can find the peace that passes understanding. It is important to remember that this peace will not always come in the form of an easy path, but it will come in the form of strength and guidance to navigate through the difficult times.

May you find peace and comfort in God today and always.
